cream, sugar and warpaint

dress: Kate Spade (old); shoes: Pour la Victoire; belt: vintage via Zachary’s Smile; bag: Rebecca Minkoff

The pizza place down the street from me had a sign in the window advertising an ‘Early Week Pick-Me-Up’. There’s no denying that the start of a new week can be a little daunting but while some may choose to comfort themselves with a 12-inch, I prefer to go on the offensive.

This Monday, I’m slashing on my sartorial warpaint with a tea dress. ‘A tea dress?!!’ I hear you say. YES! A TEA DRESS. Don’t let the conservative silhouette, dainty ruffles or floral pattern fool you; the aggressive blood red and battle-ready black are sending a message to Mr. Windows to let his minions- Excel and Outlook- know that I am ready to BRING IT.

Time to show this Monday who’s boss. ARE YOU WITH ME?!!!

  1. I think this dress looks wonderful on you – and not conservative at all! I really love this outfit! And I think the shoes and bag make a perfect match!

    • I think my closet might be preferable to Mondays at the office although the darkness and frequent dropping of sweaters onto my head might be less desirable :)
