indigo by night and day

dress: Madewell (I am so tempted to pick up the fuchsia pink as well!); cardigan: anthropologie (old, last seen here); shoes: KORS by Michael Kors; bag: J. Crew; watch: anthropologie

We’re ending the week with a big pop of color. Before I stepped into Madewell and tried on this pretty little number, I wasn’t aware that my wardrobe was in desperate need of a shot of indigo but it was. I think deep jewel tones really compliment fair complexions and I especially love any color that helps play up my red hair.

I’ve been immersed in a mint moment for the last few weeks (it stepped up into high gear when I purchased the watch) so it felt fitting to bust out my mint cardi and add it to the party. In my mind, this ensemble is just smart enough to cut the mustard at the office but really it has its eye on after work drinks with the potential for much, much more (wink, wink, nudge, nudge).

With the weekend only hours away, dear reader, do you have any fun plans? I will be holding things down in the city and trying to spend as much time out of doors as possible, weather permitting (please Mr. Weather, be kind to me!). Hope you all get to indulge in a little R&R. Happy Friday to one and all!!

  1. Your dress is definitely suitable for the office. I see women in dresses like this all the time at work. And the blue does bring out the red hair. My weekend plans consist of helping out with a back-to-school drive, doing some writing and relaxing as much as possible. 5 o’clock can’t get here fast enough! Lol

    • I never knew such awesomeness existed either until I spotted this watch on a coworker. After work I headed to my nearest anthro and there was only one mint watch left- I took it as a sign from the universe and we have scarcely been apart since. Have an amazing weekend!

    • I would definitely encourage you to go for it- bold colors pack such an amazing punch. Bright colors with blue undertones are by far the easiest for fair skinned people to pull off, at least in my experience, so that could be a great place to start!
