easy breezy

Like many people in the US, I had Wednesday off this week to celebrate July 4th. And while I would never look a work-relinquishing gift horse in the mouth, having a day off midweek has really thrown me for a loop. Tuesday felt like Friday; Wednesday felt like Saturday initially and then like Sunday when I remembered I would be back in the office the following day. Thursday was a bizarre flip-flopping combination of Monday, Friday and Saturday. My mind is so jumbled I don’t even know what to think of today.

If there is one garment that can rise above this befuddlement and look effortlessly stylish, it is a crisp and clean summer dress. Those of you that are regular visitors to this site will know that this item is so squarely in my wheelhouse, the dress and I probably share DNA. It seemed like the perfect way to end a very enjoyable but slightly odd week.

Happy Friday everyone! They’re predicting triple-digit temperatures for the East coast tomorrow. Time to put on some shorts and pass the margaritas! Whoohooo :)

  1. I adore this look! So crisp as you put it! I love it and there is something about the shoes I am totally digging as well! Well done! And I thought today was Saturday when my alarm went off and Thursday totally felt like Monday- even though today was Saturday! LOL Thank goodness it’s a quiet Friday and we get 2 consecutive days off :-) Tho I always love a 4 day week, however it comes lol :-)

    • Agreed on four-day weeks, we should have more of them!! I too woke up both yesterday and today thinking it was the weekend. No complaints though as any Friday is always a happy Friday!!

  2. It’s nice to know i’m not the only one who was all screwed up with Wednesday off. Love a classic, go-to dress. You really can’t go wrong with stripes.

    • My love for stripes has risen to an entirely new level this season. I don’t know what it is about them but I cannot get enough :)
      Have a great weekend!

  3. I like the dress, but I LOVE how you’ve styled it. Everyone’s been so obsessed with neon + neutral this year, that it seems like we’ve forgotten how to do neutral + neutral. Lovely. Oh and how’s this for a weird week: I was on vacation Monday, then went to job A Tuesday, holiday Wednesday, job B Thursday, and back to job A today. It’s a miracle I’ve managed to show up at the right place/right time. Happy weekend!
