There were several mornings this past work-week when I woke up and was absolutely convinced it was Saturday. I took this as a sign I should (a) have my sanity checked and (b) share some weekend style with you all.
On this site, I have almost always been featured in heels. This is an accurate representation of my life as I wear heels almost every day but whenever I’m walking any serious distances on this fair isle (read: Manhattan), I put on my flats because I neither want to wreck my lovely shoes nor my dear feet. It follows that the busyness that is my Saturday (errands, legwork for this blog, lots of lovely food) requires practical footwear. My go-to over the years has been French Sole ballet flats (I know fashionistas are clamoring that the ballet flat is out but that hasn’t affected my love for them one bit). Paired with an easy striped T-shirt dress and denim jacket, it’s the perfect ensemble for a charming weekend in the city. Should I need to step the look up once the sun goes down, I’ll just whack some heels on the bottom for more of a party look.
Are you ready for an amazing weekend?! It goes without saying that I am…WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
LOVE the flats! I purchased similar ones by Borne (so comfy and are at Nordstrom Rack on 14th) and only because of your blog! You were right women with big feet can rock flats
Oooh…Nordstrom Rack. It’s so close to me but I rarely go in because it’s such a slippery slope- so many great deals! Congrats on working the flats- nothing like combining comfort and style
First, I love that you’ve layered dresses. Calling it “jiggle control” seriously made me giggle. Second, I will always be a fan of ballet flats. They are classic, and I love these gold ones! A girl can’t have too many ballet flats.
So glad you appreciated the ‘jiggle’ comment but seriously- cotton jersey is great for comfort and style but often does not offer much control and instead can offer up TMI where my figure is concerned! All hail to the ballet flat!! They are seriously brilliant and will save me from walking like a cripple at 50.
Have a great weekend!
Chloe
Wait…WHO is saying that ballet flats are out?! Because I will kick them in the knees.
